Currently (January 2022), we have one cow, Beadies Blizzard, with an October born bull calf at foot (Rosedean Braw); three heifers, Rosedean Aurora, born October 2020, Rosedean Bora (Baby) and Rosedean Bronte, April and May 2021 respectively. At January 2022, Blizzard has a bull calf at foot; he is her tenth calf. None of her previous sons have been kept as bulls, until 2021 and Rosedean Braw. She will go to Hartons Grey in summer 2022.
Blizzard is our matriarch and “Boss” cow. She has proved to be a great mother and has been regularly milked. When she sadly had a dead calf in 2019, we milked her twice daily and at peak she was yielding 20 litres a day.
